Downtown we mostly deal with men. There are few women downtown and
those there are strong and frightening. They have to be to ward off rapes and other
attacks. Despite what some missions claim, there are no children downtown. If they are
there, it's only because their mothers are in a "program" and they have an
afternoon break. |

This is your typical homeless person picture, but downtown, many don't
have baskets (no markets nearby). It's true though, like with this man, that they are
constantly on the move. They are not allowed to loiter anywhere on Skid Row and the police
have the right and do have street sweeps regulary, driving their cars on the sidewalk to
move people. |
