Leonora Simonovis

Leonora Simonovis (she/her/ella) is the author of Study of the Raft (University Press of Colorado, 2021), winner of the 2021 Colorado Prize for Poetry (Center for Literary Publishing) and recipient of an honorable mention in the 2022 International Latino Book Awards. Her work has been published in DMQ Review, The Hopper, About Place Journal, Tinderbox Poetry Journal, The Rumpus, Arkansas International, and Diode Poetry Journal, among others.

She has been the recipient of fellowships and residencies from VONA, The California Arts Council, Sundress Academy for the Arts, and the Vermont Studio Center. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Leonora lives in San Diego, California, on the unceded territory of the Kumeyaay Nation. In 2022, she was a contributor to the Poetry Foundation’s Poetry & Practice series and was a 2024 reviewer for Harriet Books.
